Our take on the Ktaxon 26 inch Mountain Bike

The Ktaxon 26-inch mountain bike is a budget hardtail with a steel frame, 21 speeds, front suspension and mechanical disc brakes. It fits riders from about 5'4" and carries up to 265 lb. At $99.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the bottom of its price range, well under what most 21-speed disc-brake bikes cost new. Expect a heavy frame and basic components at this price.

Questions and answers

Is the Ktaxon 26-inch mountain bike worth it at $99.99?
At $99.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is one of the cheapest 21-speed disc-brake bikes you can buy new. It suits light riding and short commutes. If you plan to ride trails often, save for an aluminum-frame bike from a known brand.
What rider height does it fit?
The 16-inch frame is listed for riders from about 5'4". Most riders between roughly 5'4" and 5'10" will be comfortable; taller riders will feel cramped.
Does it come assembled?
No. Assembly is required, typically front wheel, handlebar, seat and pedals. Budget for a shop tune-up if you are not comfortable adjusting brakes and derailleurs yourself.
Are the brakes and gears any good?
It has mechanical disc brakes and a 21-speed 3x7 drivetrain. They stop and shift adequately when adjusted, but they are entry-level parts that need regular tuning.
How does it compare with a big-box store mountain bike?
It is similar in build and price to department-store bikes, with the same steel frame and basic parts. The advantage is the lower price; the trade-off is no local dealer for warranty or service.
When is it cheapest?
The current best new price is $99.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, with two stores listing it new. Budget bikes like this usually dip during holiday sales, so compare both stores before buying.
Where is the Ktaxon 26 inch Mountain Bike cheapest?
At Walmart, for $179.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Ktaxon 26 inch Mountain Bike?
Rated 3 out of 5 from 9 ratings.
Where can I buy the Ktaxon 26 inch Mountain Bike?
