Our take on the Kwikset Halo Touchscreen Wi-Fi Enabled Smart Lock

The Kwikset Halo is a keyed deadbolt with a touchscreen keypad and built-in Wi-Fi, so it connects to your home network without a hub or bridge. You can lock and unlock from the Kwikset app, give guests temporary codes, and use voice commands through Alexa or Google Assistant. It keeps a physical keyway as a backup. At $85 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits well below what this lock typically sells for at big-box and lock retailers, so this is a strong price for the model.

Questions and answers

Is the Kwikset Halo worth it at $85?

Does the Halo need a hub?
No. Wi-Fi is built in, so it connects directly to your router and the Kwikset app.
Does it work with Apple Home or Matter?

Can I still use a key?
