Is this bed worth it compared with a plain platform bed?

If you need storage, yes. The lift-up frame replaces a dresser or a stack of storage bins, which matters most in small rooms. A plain platform bed costs less but gives you no hidden space.

Do I need a box spring with it?

No. It is a platform bed, so a mattress sits directly on the slats. A box spring would add height and weight and make the lift harder to raise.

How much weight can the hydraulic lift handle?

The struts are sized for a standard mattress, and most owners manage a queen or king foam or hybrid mattress. Very heavy mattresses make the lift stiffer, and you may need to push it up rather than let it rise alone.

What mattress thickness works best?

A mattress around 8 to 12 inches thick sits well and keeps the headboard visible. Very thick mattresses can hide the headboard and add weight to the lift.

The shipment includes the headboard, side and foot rails, slats, the hydraulic lift hardware and assembly tools. The mattress is not included.

Storage beds tend to dip during major furniture sales and around holiday weekends. Watch the price history for a drop below the recent range before ordering.
