Is the LiveScope bundle worth $2,399?

If you fish often and want to see how fish react to your lure, the live sonar is the differentiator and the bundle saves buying the head unit and transducers separately. Casual anglers will get more value from a cheaper conventional sonar unit.

What is the difference between LVS42 and LVS44?

The LVS42 is the forward-facing live sonar and the LVS44 is the down-facing version. Together they cover scanning ahead of the boat and straight below it.

Do I need a separate battery or can I run it from the boat?

It runs on 9 to 18 Vdc and draws up to 20.7 W, so a standard 12 V boat supply works. On ice or in a kayak, size your battery for the full day at that draw.

Can the 106sv run charts and live sonar at the same time?

Yes. The 1024 x 600 screen supports split views, so you can show the LiveScope feed alongside charts or conventional sonar. A microSD card up to 1 TB holds chart data and recordings.

How deep does the sonar reach?

Garmin rates conventional sonar to 2,300 ft (701 m) at 77 kHz. LiveScope imaging works at much shorter range and is meant for fish near the boat.
