Will these fit any Makita 18V tool?

Yes. They are Makita 18V LXT batteries and work with tools in that system. They do not fit 12V CXT or 40V XGT tools.

Do I need a special charger?

They charge on the DC18SF, DC18RC, DC18RD and DC18RE. A full charge takes about 45 minutes on a DC18RC.

How do these compare with 4.0Ah packs?

They hold 50% more charge, so expect longer runtime per charge. They are also heavier, which matters on tools you hold overhead.

Is $69.99 for two packs a good price?

It works out to about $35 per pack, which is low for 6.0Ah LXT cells. It was the only new listing found as of November 7, 2026, so compare against other sellers before buying.
