Our take on the Meucci Sneaky Pete Wrap Pool Cue

The Meucci Sneaky Pete is a play cue built to look plain from across the room: a straight-grain maple forearm with four rosewood points, a rosewood sleeve and a black Irish Linen wrap. It ships with Meucci's Pro shaft, a 29-inch, 12.5mm pro-taper maple shaft with a 0.5-inch polycarbonate ferrule and an Ultraskin Black medium tip on a 5/16x18 pin. The 19 oz version is the one listed here. At $460 at eBay as of November 6, 2026, it sits at the low end of what this cue has recently sold for new.

Best forPlayers who want a low-key cue that doesn't advertise itselfLeague and bar players who prefer a linen wrapBuyers already comfortable with a 12.5mm pro taperMeucci fans wanting an entry point into the line
Pros
  • Sneaky Pete styling hides the cue's value in a pool hall
  • Pro shaft with 12.5mm tip and pro taper suits draw and English
  • Irish Linen wrap gives a firm, dry grip
  • 5/16x18 pin is common, so aftermarket shafts are easy to find
  • Ultraskin Black medium tip is a solid, widely used layered tip
Cons
  • The listing says both "No Wrap" and "Black Irish Linen wrap," so confirm the wrap before ordering
  • Sneaky Pete looks give no adjustment help; beginners may want a plain, more forgiving cue
  • Polycarbonate ferrule is durable but some players prefer a softer hit
  • Only one weight (19 oz) is listed here
