Our take on the Ktaxon 26in Folding Beach Cruiser Bike for Women, 7-Speed City Commuter Bike with Lock, Basket & Rack

The Ktaxon 26-inch cruiser is a steel-framed women's bike with a step-through frame, seven speeds, V-brakes and swept-back bars, sold with a lock, front basket and rear rack. It is a budget city and beach bike aimed at casual riders, not a light or fast machine. The best new price is $199.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no cheaper new option to compare against.

Best forCasual riders on flat streets and boardwalksShoppers who want basket, rack and lock includedRiders who prefer a step-through frameShort errands and light commuting
Pros
  • Basket, rear rack and lock come in the box
  • Seven speeds handle gentle hills better than a single-speed cruiser

  • 265 lb max load is generous for the class
  • 26-inch wheels roll smoothly on pavement
Cons
  • Steel frame and fork make it heavy
  • No suspension, so rough pavement is felt
  • V-brakes are basic and need regular adjustment
  • Ships unassembled; you need tools and some skill
  • Only one store sells it new, so price shopping is limited

Questions and answers

Is the Ktaxon cruiser bike worth $199.99?
At $199.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is cheap for a seven-speed bike with a basket, rack and lock. Expect to spend time on assembly and tuning, and accept a heavy steel frame.
How hard is assembly?
It ships unassembled. You fit the front wheel, handlebars, seat, pedals and accessories, then adjust the brakes and derailleur. A shop tune-up is worth budgeting for if you are not comfortable with that.
Is it good for hills?
Seven speeds help on gentle slopes, but the steel frame is heavy and there is no suspension. It suits flat streets, beach paths and short errands better than long climbs.
What size rider does it fit?
The frame is 17 inches with 26-inch wheels, which generally suits riders around 5'3" to 5'9". Check the standover height before buying if you are near either end.
What comes in the box?
The bike, a lock, a front basket and a rear rack. Tools for basic assembly are usually included, but you may need your own wrenches and a pump.
When is it cheapest?
Only one store lists it new, so there is little price competition. Watch for seasonal sales at Walmart rather than expecting a lower price elsewhere.
Where is the Ktaxon 26in Folding Beach Cruiser Bike for Women, 7-Speed City Commuter Bike with Lock, Basket & Rack cheapest?
At Walmart, for $199.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Ktaxon 26in Folding Beach Cruiser Bike for Women, 7-Speed City Commuter Bike with Lock, Basket & Rack?
