Our take on the Microsoft Surface 13.8" 2K Touchscreen Laptop Snapdragon X2 Elite 16GB 512GB with Dock

This is a 13.8-inch Surface laptop with a 2304 x 1536 PixelSense touchscreen at 120Hz and 600 nits, running Qualcomm's 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite with a 80 TOPS NPU, 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. It ships with a dock, which adds desktop connectivity most Surface models sell separately. The best new price is $1,219.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, with two stores listing it new. That is a launch-window price for a 2026 model, so expect it to hold near list for a while.

Questions and answers

Is the Snapdragon X2 Elite fast enough for everyday work?
Yes. The 12-core X2 Elite with 16GB RAM handles browsing, Office, video calls and light photo editing without strain. It is not a gaming or heavy 3D chip.
Does it run all Windows apps?
Most mainstream apps run natively on Arm now, and others run through emulation. Some games with anti-cheat and older specialized software may not work.
How long does the battery last?
Microsoft rates Snapdragon Surface laptops for roughly all-day use, and the 120Hz screen can be dropped to 60Hz to stretch it. Real-world results vary with brightness and workload.
What is in the box?
The laptop, a charger and the included dock. Check the listing for keyboard and pen details, since Surface configurations vary.
Is $1,219.99 a good price?
It is the best new price among the two stores listing it as of November 4, 2026. For a 2026 model with a dock, that is close to list, so waiting for a holiday sale is reasonable.
Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?
RAM is soldered and not upgradable. The SSD may be replaceable on some Surface models, but check the service guide before buying.
