Our take on the Milwaukee M12 FUEL 3/8" Subcompact Impact Wrench Kit with M12 Impact Driver

This is a two-tool Milwaukee M12 FUEL kit: a 3/8-inch subcompact impact wrench and an M12 impact driver, both brushless, with two 2.5 Ah batteries and a charger. The wrench is rated at 225 ft-lbs of torque and 3,600 impacts per minute, and its 2-inch body width lets it fit where full-size wrenches won't. At $215 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of what this kit has sold for recently. It is a 12V kit, so it trades outright power for size and weight.

Best forHome mechanics and DIYers working on cars and lawn equipmentLug nuts, suspension bolts and engine-bay work where space is tightBuyers who want one battery platform for a wrench and a driverTradespeople who need a light kit to carry all day
Pros
  • 225 ft-lbs from a 12V subcompact wrench is strong for its class
  • Brushless motors on both tools for longer runtime and life
  • Two 2.5 Ah batteries and a charger included, so it works out of the box
  • 2-inch body width reaches tight spots a full-size wrench can't
  • Variable speed and an LED light on the wrench
  • Shares M12 batteries with the rest of Milwaukee's 12V line
Cons
  • 12V power falls short of 18V/20V wrenches on stubborn, rusted bolts
  • 2.5 Ah batteries are small; heavy use drains them fast
  • Kit price is high next to single-tool options if you don't need the driver
  • No hard case in most kit versions

What reviewers say

Owners of the M12 FUEL impact wrench line generally rate it highly for its size-to-power ratio, calling it the go-to for tight engine-bay and suspension work. The common complaint is that 12V torque runs out on heavily rusted fasteners.

Pros
  • Fits where bigger wrenches won't
  • Strong torque for a 12V tool
  • Light and easy to carry
  • Good battery life with the included 2.5 Ah packs

Questions and answers

Is the M12 FUEL 3/8-inch impact wrench strong enough for lug nuts?
Yes for most passenger cars. At 225 ft-lbs it handles typical lug nuts, but check your vehicle's torque spec and break loose heavily rusted or over-torqued nuts by hand first.
How does this compare to an 18V impact wrench?
It is smaller and lighter but weaker. An 18V wrench delivers more torque for stubborn bolts; this kit wins on access and portability.
What's in the box?
The 3/8-inch impact wrench, the M12 impact driver, two 2.5 Ah M12 batteries and a charger. Confirm the case with the seller, since kit contents vary.
Do the batteries work with other Milwaukee tools?
Yes. The 2.5 Ah M12 batteries fit any tool in Milwaukee's M12 line, including drills, ratchets and lights.
Is $215 a good price for this kit?
It is at the low end of the kit's recent range, at $215 at eBay as of November 4, 2026. Compare against single-tool prices if you don't need the impact driver.
Where is the Milwaukee M12 FUEL 3/8" Subcompact Impact Wrench Kit with M12 Impact Driver cheapest?
At Home Depot, for $349.00, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Milwaukee M12 FUEL 3/8" Subcompact Impact Wrench Kit with M12 Impact Driver?
