Is the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 6-1/2 in. saw worth it over the older brushed M18 saw?

Yes, if you cut a lot of lumber. The FUEL brushless motor is rated for 5X the motor life and up to 30% faster cutting than competitive saws, and the brake and rafter hook are real upgrades. For occasional cuts, the brushed model is cheaper.

How deep will it cut?

2-3/16 in. at 90 degrees, enough for 2x material. It bevels to 50 degrees, so depth drops as you tilt the shoe.

Does the kit include a battery and charger?

The listing names the saw and a REDLITHIUM XC 4.0 battery pack. Confirm a charger is in the box before buying, since some kits ship tool and battery only.

What blade does it use?

A 6-1/2 in. blade with a 5/8 in. arbor. The included high-speed steel blade is fine for framing; swap in a carbide finishing blade for trim.

Kit prices move with battery promotions. At $283.57 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it is near the bottom of its recent range, so waiting for a further drop has limited upside.
