Questions and answers

Does the lid open without touching the can?
Yes. A motion sensor opens the lid when your hand comes near, and it closes on its own after a short delay.
What size trash bags fit it?
Use 2.6-gallon liners, a common size sold in most grocery and home stores. Standard kitchen bags will be far too large.
Does it need batteries?
Yes. Sensor lids run on batteries, so keep spares on hand; the lid stops responding when they run low.
Is it big enough for a kitchen?
No. At 2.6 gallons and 14.65 inches tall it suits a bathroom, bedroom or office, not a family kitchen.
Is $29.99 a good price?
It is the best new price we have on record, $29.99 at Walmart as of November 6, 2026, and the only new price listed across three stores, so there is little to compare against.
Where does it work best?
Beside a toilet, under a desk or in a nursery, where a small hands-free bin is more useful than a large one.
Where is the Nine Stars 2.6 Gallon Sensor Trash Can cheapest?
At Walmart, for $29.99, 20% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Nine Stars 2.6 Gallon Sensor Trash Can?
Rated 4.4 out of 5 from 22 ratings.
Where can I buy the Nine Stars 2.6 Gallon Sensor Trash Can?
3 stores we checked sell it, including eBay, Walmart, Wayfair.
