Is this bundle worth it over the standalone console?

Yes if you want Mario Kart World. The game sells for around $80 on its own, and the case and cleaning kit add a little more, so the bundle costs about the same as the console plus the game.

How is the Switch 2 different from the original Switch?

It has a larger 7.9-inch 1080p HDR screen with 120 Hz VRR, 256 GB storage, magnetic Joy-Con 2 controllers and 4K output when docked. The original topped out at 720p handheld and 1080p docked.

How long does the battery last?

Nintendo rates it at roughly 2 to 6.5 hours depending on the game, and a full charge takes about 3 hours over USB-C.

Does it play original Switch games?

Yes, most physical and digital Switch games run on Switch 2, and many get performance boosts. A small number of titles have compatibility issues.

What comes in the box?

The Switch 2 console, dock, Joy-Con 2 controllers, a carrying case, a cleaning kit and a copy of Mario Kart World.

At $499.97 it is at the standard launch price, and Nintendo hardware rarely discounts in its first year. Watch for retailer bundles or gift-card offers rather than a lower sticker price.
