Questions and answers

Is the Oscar Schmidt Double Cutaway good for beginners?
Yes. It is a full-size, Strat-style guitar at a low price, so it suits a first electric. Budget the cost of a professional setup, since factory setups on inexpensive guitars are often rough.
What pickups does it have?
It has three single-coil pickups (S+S+S). That gives you the classic bright, quacky tones, but it will hum more than humbucker-equipped guitars at high gain.
What colors does it come in?
Listings show Tobacco Sunburst, Black, Natural, Purple and Surf Green. Availability varies by store.
Is $164.85 a good price?
It is the best new price among five stores as of November 4, 2026, and sits at the low end of its recent range. That makes it a reasonable buy if you want this model.
Does it come with a case or amp?
No case or amplifier is listed with it. Expect to buy those separately if you are starting from scratch.
How does it compare with a Squier Stratocaster?
Both are Strat-style budget guitars. Squier has broader parts and setup support; the Oscar Schmidt usually costs less. Try both if you can.
Where is the Oscar Schmidt Double Cutaway Electric Guitar cheapest?
At Walmart, for $164.85, 37% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Oscar Schmidt Double Cutaway Electric Guitar?
11 stores we checked sell it, including Sweetheart Deals, The Music Farm, ZoZo Music, eBay, Walmart.
