Is the Epiphone Les Paul Special worth $549?

At $549 it is a fair price for a mahogany Les Paul-style guitar with two humbuckers. Compare it with a used Gibson or a higher Epiphone model if you want better pickups and hardware.

How does it differ from a Les Paul Standard?

The Special has a plainer mahogany top, no maple cap and simpler binding and inlays. A Standard adds a maple top, fancier cosmetics and often better pickups.

What is the scale length and nut width?

It has a 24.75-inch scale length and a 1.693-inch nut, the standard Les Paul feel. Players with large hands may find the upper frets tight.

Does it come with a case?

Most listings sell the guitar alone without a case or gig bag. Budget for a Les Paul-sized gig bag or hard case.
