Our take on the OZ Machine Company Roosevelt

The OZ Machine Roosevelt is a handmade right-handed frame-lock folder from OZ Machine Company, built with an S45VN drop-point blade and a titanium handle. It sits in the high-end custom-tier of everyday carry knives, where the machined titanium frame and hand finishing are the draw. New stock is thin: the only new listing found is $1,149 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, with no lower competing new price to compare against.

Pros
  • S45VN steel holds an edge well and resists corrosion
  • Full titanium handle keeps weight down for its size
  • Frame lock is simple and strong with few parts
  • Handmade in small batches, so fit and finish get individual attention
  • Drop-point blade shape works for slicing and general utility
Cons
  • $1,149 new is custom-knife money for a single folder
  • Only one new listing found, so choice of finish and price is minimal
  • Right-handed only; lefties have no mirror option here
  • Titanium frame locks can develop lock stick until broken in
  • Handmade batches mean long waits and thin secondary supply

Questions and answers

Is the Roosevelt worth $1,149?
That price puts it in custom-folder territory. You are paying for US hand assembly, a titanium frame and S45VN steel rather than for a mass-market tool. If you want a hard-use beater, a production titanium frame lock costs far less.
How does it compare with other OZ Machine knives?
The Roosevelt is a compact frame-lock folder with a drop-point blade. Other OZ models differ mainly in blade shape, size and lock style, so pick based on the blade profile you actually cut with.
What steel is the blade, and how does it hold up?
The blade is S45VN, a powder-metallurgy stainless with good edge retention and corrosion resistance. It sharpens on standard stones and suits daily slicing tasks.
Is it left-hand friendly?
No. This version is right-handed only, with the frame lock and clip set up for right-hand carry. Left-handed buyers should look for a dedicated left-hand model.
What comes in the box?
Expect the knife itself, typically with OZ Machine packaging and paperwork. Confirm with the seller whether a pouch, cloth or certificate is included, since handmade batches vary.
When is the best time to buy?
New stock is scarce, so price moves with whatever a single seller lists. Watch for drops from OZ Machine directly and compare any new listing against the $1,149 eBay price from November 5, 2026.
Where is the OZ Machine Company Roosevelt cheapest?
At eBay, for $1,199.99, as of our latest check.
