Who is the HL Max fairway wood for?

It targets golfers with slower swing speeds who need help getting the ball up. The lighter HL build and Max forgiveness suit mid-to-high handicaps and smooth-tempo players.

How does the HL version differ from the standard G430 Max?

The HL uses a lighter head and shaft to promote higher launch and more clubhead speed for slower swings. The standard Max is built heavier for faster swingers.

Yes. The hosel adjusts loft by about ±1.5 degrees, so you can tune trajectory and shot shape.

What comes in the box?

The club, a headcover and an adjustment wrench.

Our take on the Ping G430 HL Max Fairway Wood

The Ping G430 HL Max is a high-launch, high-forgiveness fairway wood built for slower swing speeds. The HL build uses a lighter head and shaft to help golfers get the ball airborne, while the Max shape and 176cc head (3-wood) add stability on off-center hits. The maraging steel face is designed to cut spin on thin strikes and keep ball speed up. At $269.98 at PGA TOUR Superstore as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range, with only one store listing it new.
