Is the Ping G440 Max 3 wood good for high handicappers?

Yes. The Max is Ping's most forgiving fairway line, with a large head and shallow face that help get the ball up from the turf. It suits players who struggle to launch a 3 wood.

What shaft flex does this 3 wood have?

This listing is the stiff-flex graphite shaft, right-handed, at 15° of loft. Lighter and regular flexes exist in the same model if you need more speed.

Can I adjust the loft on the G440 Max fairway?

Yes. The hosel is adjustable, so a fitter can raise or lower loft and change the face angle. Small changes of a degree or two are typical.

Is $299 a good price for this fairway wood?

It is the only new price listed as of November 7, 2026, and it sits at the top of its recent range. Waiting for a sale or checking used and prior-generation G430 Max models can save money.

How does it compare with the Ping G430 Max fairway?

The G440 Max follows the same forgiving formula with a refined shape and updated weighting. The G430 Max is the cheaper option and performs similarly for most players.
