Our take on the Polibi Twin Size Velvet Upholstered Daybed with High Side Panels

The Polibi Twin Velvet Upholstered Daybed is a wood-framed sofa bed with tall upholstered side panels, a slatted base and velvet fabric, sized as a twin at 79.7 inches wide. It works as a seating piece by day and a sleeper by night, with the high panels giving it a more enclosed, headboard-like look than a plain daybed. The listed maximum weight capacity is 80.39 lb, which is low for an adult sleeper and is the main thing to check before buying.

Cons
  • 80.39 lb max weight is very low and rules out most adults
  • Velvet shows marks and needs spot cleaning

Questions and answers

Is the 80.39 lb weight limit enough for an adult?
No. At 80.39 lb, the listed capacity is below the weight of most adults and even many older children. Treat it as a seat or a bed for a small child unless the maker confirms a higher limit.
Does it need a box spring?
No. It has a slatted wood base, so a twin mattress sits directly on the slats. A box spring would add height and is not required.
What mattress size fits?
A standard twin mattress. The frame is 79.7 in wide, so check your room and doorway clearance before ordering, since the side panels add bulk.
Is assembly required?
Yes. It ships flat and needs to be assembled, and the wood frame and panels make it a two-person job. Check that all hardware is present before starting.
How do I clean the velvet?
Vacuum with a soft brush and blot spills promptly with a damp cloth. Avoid soaking the fabric, and test any cleaner on a hidden area first.
When is it cheapest?
Upholstered daybeds tend to dip during seasonal furniture sales and clearance events. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.
