Our take on the Prusa Core One+ 3D printer

The Prusa Core One+ is an enclosed CoreXY 3D printer with a 250 x 220 x 270 mm build volume, a Nextruder extruder and heavy-duty linear rails. It prints PLA, PETG and PC at 0.05 to 0.30 mm layers and runs about 20% faster than the MK4S. It connects over LAN or through Prusa Connect and the Prusa app, and comes as a kit or assembled. The best new price is $1,349.00 at Amazon as of November 6, 2026, with two stores listing it new.

Best forEngineers prototyping functional partsMakers who want an enclosed printer for PC and PETGPrusa MK4S owners wanting more speed and a chamberBuyers who prefer a kit they assemble themselves
Pros
  • Enclosed chamber helps with PC and other warp-prone filaments
  • Heavy-duty linear rails should hold accuracy over long use
  • About 20% faster than the MK4S
  • Nextruder extruder with 1.75 mm filament and a Prusament sample included
  • Prusa Connect, LAN and mobile app control
  • Kit option keeps the entry price lower than assembled
Cons
  • 22.5 kg and 415 x 444 x 555 mm, so it needs a sturdy, deep bench
  • Camera is an optional add-on, not built in
  • No multi-color printing without a separate multi-material unit
  • Kit build takes hours and some patience
  • Enclosed chamber limits access for maintenance

What reviewers say

Owners of Prusa's Core One line praise the enclosed CoreXY design, the linear rails and the faster print times, and most find the kit build straightforward. Common complaints are the footprint and weight, the extra cost of the camera and multi-material add-ons, and the tighter working space inside the enclosure.

Questions and answers

Is the Core One+ worth it over the MK4S?
If you print PC or other warp-prone filaments, the enclosed chamber and linear rails justify the step up. It is also about 20% faster. For PLA-only printing on a budget, the MK4S remains enough.
Does it come assembled?
It is sold as an assembly kit and as a fully assembled unit. The kit is cheaper but takes hours to build; the assembled version is ready to print out of the box.
Can it print multiple colors?
Not on its own. Multi-color printing needs a separate multi-material unit, which is not included in the base price.
What filaments can it print?
Prusa lists PLA, PETG and PC, and the enclosed chamber suits PC and other engineering materials. It uses 1.75 mm filament and ships with a Prusament sample.
Is there a camera for remote monitoring?
No, the camera is an optional in-chamber add-on. Without it you can still monitor and control jobs through Prusa Connect or the mobile app.
When is the price lowest?
The best new price seen is $1,349.00 at Amazon as of November 6, 2026. Prusa kit pricing and bundle promotions tend to move the price most around product launches and holidays.
Where is the Prusa Core One+ 3D printer cheapest?
