Our take on the Rubber Hex Dumbbell Set 5-50lbs with Vertical Rack

A full run of rubber-coated hex dumbbells from 5 to 50 lbs in 5 lb steps, bundled with a vertical rack. Rubber hex heads protect floors and resist rolling, and the set covers light isolation work up through heavy pressing and rows. At $678 at Extreme Training Equipment as of November 5, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Pros
  • Covers 5 to 50 lbs in 5 lb increments, enough for most accessory and pressing work
  • Rubber hex heads are quieter and kinder to floors than bare metal
  • Vertical rack keeps ten pairs off the floor and easy to grab
  • Hex shape stops dumbbells rolling between sets
  • Suitable for commercial use, not just home gyms
Cons
  • 3% weight tolerance means pairs can differ slightly from the marked weight
  • Full 5-50 lb set plus rack is heavy and needs floor space and a solid base
  • Rubber coating can smell when new and may scuff on rough concrete
  • No 2.5 lb jumps, so progression between sizes is coarse

Questions and answers

Is the rack included?
The listing offers a hex set only or a bundle with a vertical rack. This 5-50 lb set with rack is the bundle, so the rack ships with the dumbbells.
How accurate are the weights?
Extreme Training Equipment lists a 3% weight tolerance. A 50 lb dumbbell could weigh roughly 48.5 to 51.5 lbs.
Is this set good for a home gym?
Yes, if you have the floor space and a solid base for the rack. It covers warm-ups through heavy rows and presses, and the rubber heads protect most floors.
Can I use it in a commercial gym?
The listing says it suits home and commercial gyms. Rubber hex dumbbells are common in commercial settings because they hold up to drops and heavy use.
Is $678 a good price?
Only one store lists it new at $678 as of November 5, 2026, so there is no competing price to compare. Judge it against the cost of buying ten pairs and a rack separately.
Can I pick it up instead of shipping?
Store pick-up is offered at checkout. That avoids freight costs and damage risk on a heavy set.
Where is the Rubber Hex Dumbbell Set 5-50lbs with Vertical Rack cheapest?
At Extreme Training Equipment, for $678.00, 43% off, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Rubber Hex Dumbbell Set 5-50lbs with Vertical Rack?
4 stores we checked sell it, including Extreme Training Equipment, Barbell Standard, Modell's Sporting Goods, Power Swing Fitness.
