Our take on the Samsung 98" Class U9000H Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV

The Samsung U9000H is a 98-inch 4K LED TV from Samsung's entry-level Crystal UHD line, built for people who want the biggest possible picture for the money. It uses a standard LED backlight with no local dimming or quantum-dot layer, so it trades contrast and color range for sheer size. At $1,397.99 at B&H Photo-Video-Audio as of November 8, 2026, it sits at the low end of what a 98-inch 4K set costs, and 11 stores carry it new.

Questions and answers

Is the Samsung U9000H worth it?
If size is the priority and you watch in a bright room, yes: $1,397.99 at B&H Photo-Video-Audio as of November 8, 2026 buys a 98-inch 4K TV. If you want deep blacks or 120Hz gaming, spend more on a QLED or OLED.
How does it compare with Samsung's QLED 98-inch sets?
QLED models add quantum-dot color and local dimming for better contrast and brightness. The U9000H is the budget path to 98 inches and gives up those picture improvements.
Does it support 120Hz or HDMI 2.1 gaming?
No. It is a 60Hz panel without HDMI 2.1 features like variable refresh rate, so it suits casual console play but not high-frame-rate gaming.
What is in the box?
The TV, a stand, a remote, and power and documentation. A wall mount is not included, and given the 114.2 lb weight you will need a heavy-duty mount rated for it.
When is it cheapest?
Large TVs like this usually drop around Black Friday and the Super Bowl. Its current $1,397.99 at B&H Photo-Video-Audio as of November 8, 2026 is already near the low end of its range.
