Is $1,399.99 a good price for the LG 98-inch NU85?

It is the lowest of the four new prices we track as of November 8, 2026, at Best Buy. For a 98-inch 4K set that is aggressive; check the other three stores before buying in case one drops lower.

Is this TV good for a dark home theater?

Not its strength. It is an LED set without OLED or mini-LED dimming, so blacks look gray in a dark room. It suits bright rooms better.

How big is a 98-inch TV in a room?

The panel alone is roughly 7 feet wide. Plan for a wall or stand with several feet of clearance and seating about 10 to 13 feet back for 4K.

Does it run apps like Netflix and YouTube?

Yes. It runs webOS with the major streaming apps and over 400 free LG channels.

The TV, its stand and a remote. Check the listing for the exact stand and wall-mount hardware, since a set this size often needs a heavy-duty mount sold separately.

Large TVs tend to drop around Black Friday and before new models arrive. Track its price history and compare all four stores rather than buying on the first cut.
