Our take on the Schlage Plymouth Keypad Entry Flex-Lock Lever

The Schlage Plymouth is a keypad deadbolt with a lever handle, sold as a single electronic lockset for exterior doors. It unlocks with a four-digit code or a physical key, and Flex-Lock lets you switch between automatic relock and staying unlocked. It is universal-handed, so it fits left- and right-swing doors without a separate model. The best new price is $110 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, and five stores carry it new.

Best forRental and Airbnb hosts who need code access without handing out keysFamilies who want keyless entry on a front or side doorHomeowners replacing a worn mechanical deadboltAnyone who wants a key backup for power or battery failure
Pros
  • Keypad code plus physical key backup
  • Flex-Lock switches between auto-relock and stay-unlocked
  • Universal handing fits left- and right-swing doors
  • Battery-powered, so no wiring needed
  • Plymouth lever matches a common Schlage trim style
Cons
  • Not a smart lock: no app, Wi-Fi or remote access
  • Codes are shared at the keypad, not managed from a phone
  • Battery must be changed periodically
  • Lever style may not suit doors drilled for a knob

Questions and answers

Is the Schlage Plymouth worth it over a smart lock?
If you only need keyless entry with a key backup, yes: it costs less and needs no hub or app. Choose a smart lock if you want remote access, schedules or guest codes from a phone.
How many codes can it store?
It holds one four-digit user code plus the programming code, so it suits a household but not a rotating cast of guests. Change the user code when someone moves out.
What is Flex-Lock?
Flex-Lock is a switch inside the lock that sets whether the deadbolt relocks automatically after entry or stays unlocked. Leave it unlocked for daytime traffic and switch back for security at night.
Does it fit my door?
It fits standard doors with a 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch backset and is universal-handed, so it works on left- and right-swing doors. Check your door's bore holes before buying.
What is in the box?
The box has the keypad deadbolt, the lever, keys, mounting hardware and instructions. Batteries are included on most retail versions; confirm with the seller.
When is it cheapest?
The best new price is $110 at eBay as of November 4, 2026. Keypad locks usually drop around holiday sales and when a newer model launches.
Where is the Schlage Plymouth Keypad Entry Flex-Lock Lever cheapest?
At Home Depot, for $125.24, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Schlage Plymouth Keypad Entry Flex-Lock Lever?
Rated 4.7 out of 5 from 329 ratings.
Where can I buy the Schlage Plymouth Keypad Entry Flex-Lock Lever?
8 stores we checked sell it, including Home Depot, Ferguson Home, eBay, Wayfair, CraftmasterHardware.com.
