Is the SENTRO 48 needle machine worth it?

If you want to crank out plain hats, scarves and sock tubes quickly, yes. It cannot do patterns or fine gauge work, so it complements hand knitting rather than replacing it.

What yarn thickness does it take?

Yarn up to 8 mm thick works, which covers most worsted and bulky weights. Very thin fingering yarn may slip or knit too loosely even at the tightest density.

How do I switch between tube and panel knitting?

Use the conversion key to change the setting so the machine knits a closed tube or a flat panel. Switch before you start a piece, not mid-row.

The knitting machine, a conversion key and instructions. Yarn and a clamp are not always included, so check the listing before buying.

Our take on the SENTRO Upgraded 48 Needles Knitting Machine

The SENTRO Upgraded 48 Needle Knitting Machine is a hand-cranked plastic knitting mill for making tubes and flat panels from yarn up to 8 mm thick. It has 48 needles, four adjustable yarn densities, a conversion key for switching between tube and panel knitting, and a smart row counter. At $79.99 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against. It suits crafters who want faster output than hand knitting on small projects like hats, scarves and socks.
