Is the DG DN II worth it over the original 24-70mm Art?

Yes if you want the lighter, smaller body, the aperture ring and closer focusing. The original remains a cheaper option if those gains do not matter to you.

Does it work on APS-C Sony bodies?

It mounts on Sony E-mount APS-C cameras, where it behaves like a 36-105mm equivalent. It is designed for full-frame sensors, so you carry more weight and size than needed.

Does it have image stabilization?

No. It relies on the camera's in-body stabilization, which most recent Sony full-frame bodies have.

How close can it focus?

17 cm at 24mm, with a maximum magnification of 1:2.7. That is close enough for near-macro detail at the wide end.

The lens, a petal lens hood (LH878-05), a rear cap (LCR II) and a case.
