Buyers treat the Junior Kicker as a solid first acoustic kit for kids, valuing the complete package and scaled sizes. The common complaints are the entry-level cymbals and hardware and the fact that players outgrow it.
Designed to give younger players a true acoustic drumming experience, the Sound Percussion Labs Junior Kicker 5-piece drum set delivers a complete, scaled configuration that feels like a real kit from the start. Featuring a 16x10" bass drum, 10x5" snare, 8x6" and 10x6" rack toms, and a 12x10" floor tom, this youth-focused setup mirrors a traditional 5-piece layout while remaining comfortable for developing drummers. Wrapped multi-ply hardwood shells provide authentic acoustic tone, while included cymbals, stands, bass drum pedal, throne, tuning key and drumsticks make the Junior Kicker a complete starter drum set for beginners. Ideal for students, parents, schools and first-time players, this Metallic Blue SPL kit bridges the gap between compact kids drums and full-size entry-level drum sets. Scaled 5-Piece Configuration for Developing Drummers The Junior Kicker delivers a true 5-piece acoustic drum kit experience with scaled dimensions designed for younger players. The 16x10" bass drum provides satisfying low-end punch without overwhelming smaller players, while the 8x6" and 10x6" rack toms and 12x10" floor tom create a familiar layout for building coordination and technique. A 10x5" snare drum completes the setup, allowing students to develop stick control and rhythmic fundamentals. This configuration helps new drummers learn on a layout that prepares them for full-size drum kits as their skills progress. Wrapped Hardwood Shells for Authentic Acoustic Tone Wrapped multi-ply hardwood shells give the SPL Junior Kicker a responsive, punchy voice suited for practice, lessons and early band settings. Fully tunable drumheads allow players to experiment with tone and tuning, while chrome-plated hardware adds durability and visual appeal. The shell construction supports balanced response across the kit, helping beginners hear dynamics clearly while developing timing, coordination and control. Complete Drum Set With Included Accessories The Junior Kicker arrives as a complete package with cymbals, stands, bass drum pedal, throne, tuning key and drumsticks. Adjustable cymbal, snare and hi-hat stands allow players to dial in comfortable positioning, while the included bass drum pedal supports developing foot technique. This all-in-one configuration eliminates the need for additional purchases, making setup simple for parents, teachers and first-time players. Built for Young Players and First-Time Drummers Positioned between compact kids kits and full-size beginner drum sets, the Junior Kicker is designed for younger players ready for a more authentic drumming experience. Scaled hardware improves reach and comfort, while the full 5-piece layout encourages proper technique from the start. Whether used for home practice, lessons or school music programs, the Sound Percussion Labs Junior Kicker 5-piece drum set provides a complete and confidence-building entry into acoustic drumming.
