Is the 4-pack worth it over buying single boxes?

If you have a full closet, shelf or garage wall to organize, the 4-pack usually costs less per box than singles. Buy singles only if you need one or two boxes.

Will these fit on a standard closet shelf?

Each box is 23.75 inches long and 13.5 inches tall. Measure your shelf depth and the clearance above it before buying, since the box is deeper than many wire shelves.

Are the boxes airtight?

No. The latching lid holds the top down but is not sealed, so use a sealed container for food, photos or anything sensitive to moisture and pests.

Can I stack them when full?

Yes. The lids are designed to nest with the base of another box, and the latches keep the lid in place. Keep the stack level and avoid overloading the bottom box.

What can one 64-quart box hold?

Roughly a full set of queen bedding, several winter coats or a few sweaters. It is a good size for bulky items, not for small parts.

When is the price lowest?

Storage totes tend to drop during back-to-school and post-holiday clearance. Check the price history on this page to see whether the current price is near its low.

Our take on the Sterilite 64 Quart Latching Box 4-Pack

The Sterilite 64 Quart Latching Box is a clear plastic storage tote with a latching lid, sold here as a 4-pack. Each box holds 64 quarts (about 16 gallons) and measures 23.75 inches long by 13.5 inches tall, so it fits standard closet shelves and stacks with matching boxes. The clear sides let you see contents without opening, and the latches hold the lid down for stacking and moving.
