Is the CL570m worth it over a smaller 12-inch trimmer?

If you cut posters, blueprints or wide photos, yes. A 12-inch trimmer cannot make a single straight cut across a 24- or 36-inch sheet, and the CL570m can. For letter-size paper only, a smaller trimmer costs less and takes less space.

How many sheets can it cut at once?

Swingline rates it at 15 sheets per cut. That suits office jobs and small print runs. For continuous high-volume cutting, a powered or hydraulic cutter is faster.

What can I cut with it besides paper?

Swingline lists paper, posters, blueprints and photos. Thick board, laminated sheets and fabric are not rated and can dull or damage the blade.

How much space does it need?

The unit measures about 7.5 inches high, 37.5 inches wide and 51.5 inches deep. Plan a sturdy table or floor spot with room to feed full sheets through the bed.

What does the warranty cover?

It is a 10-year limited warranty from Swingline. It covers manufacturing defects, not normal blade wear or damage from misuse.

When is the price lowest?

Office supply trimmers like this tend to drop during back-to-school and end-of-year office supply sales. Check the price history before buying.

Our take on the Swingline ClassicCut CL570m Table Guillotine Trimmer

The Swingline ClassicCut CL570m is a table guillotine trimmer with a 36-inch cutting length and a 15-sheet capacity, built for medium offices and print rooms. Its long bed handles posters, blueprints and wide photo sheets that a standard 12-inch trimmer cannot. It is a floor-standing or large-table tool, not a desktop cutter, and carries a 10-year limited warranty.
