Our take on the Swingline ClassicCut CL560m Table Guillotine Trimmer

The Swingline ClassicCut CL560m is a tabletop guillotine trimmer with a 30-inch cutting length and a rated capacity of 15 sheets per cut. That width suits large-format work like posters, blueprints and photo sheets, not just letter paper. It is built for large offices that cut often, backed by a 10-year limited warranty. Questions and answers

Is the CL560m worth it over a smaller trimmer?
If you regularly cut sheets wider than 18 inches, yes. For letter-size paper only, a smaller, cheaper trimmer does the same job.
How many sheets can it cut at once?
Swingline rates it at 15 sheets per cut. Thick cardstock, laminated sheets and photos should be cut in thinner stacks.
What is the maximum cut width?
30 inches, which covers most poster and blueprint sizes. Anything wider needs a floor-model or roll trimmer.
Does it come with a safety guard?
Swingline guillotine trimmers ship with a blade guard and latch. Keep the latch engaged whenever the trimmer is not in use.
What is in the box?
The trimmer itself with its blade and guard, plus the printed safety and warranty paperwork. A cutting mat or spare blade is usually sold separately.
When is it cheapest?
Office-supply trimmers tend to dip during back-to-school and end-of-year office sales. Watch the price history and buy below the recent midpoint.
