Our take on the Tanbaby 6 inch Cordless Weed Eater String Trimmer

The Tanbaby 6-inch Cordless Weed Eater is a small 21V battery string trimmer sold for light residential trimming around patios, fences and flower beds. Its 6-inch cutting width is about half that of a typical full-size string trimmer, and the line feed is manual, so you stop and advance the line by hand. It has a straight shaft and weighs little, which suits quick touch-up work rather than large lawns. Its 2.2 out of 5 rating from 12 ratings is low, so check the price against other 20V-class trimmers before buying.

Questions and answers

Is the Tanbaby weed eater worth it?
Only for very small jobs. A 6-inch cut and manual line feed make it slow on anything larger than a patio edge, and its 2.2 of 5 rating is a warning sign.
How wide does it cut?
6 inches. That is roughly half the width of a standard string trimmer, so expect more passes along long fences or beds.
Does it come with a battery and charger?
The listing does not make this clear, so confirm with the seller before ordering. It runs on a 21V battery.
How is the line advanced?
Manually. You bump or pull the line by hand rather than using an automatic feed, which adds time to each trim.
Is it good for a large lawn?
No. The narrow cut and small battery suit touch-ups and small yards; a full-size 18V or 20V trimmer will finish a large lawn faster.
What do buyers say about the Tanbaby 6 inch Cordless Weed Eater String Trimmer?
Rated 2.2 out of 5 from 12 ratings.
