Is the split king worth it over a standard king base?

Yes if you and your partner want different head and foot positions. A standard king base moves both sides together, so the split king is the only way to get independent control.

What mattress do I need for a split king base?

Two twin XL mattresses, or a split king mattress set. A single king mattress will not work because the two halves move separately.

Does it come with a remote?

Tempur-Pedic power bases normally include a wired or wireless remote for head and foot adjustment. Confirm the remote type on the listing before you buy.

How much assembly is required?

Minimal assembly. The base arrives mostly put together, and you attach the legs and set the leg height to match your bed.

Is $1,999 a good price?

It is at the low end of the recent range for this base, and three stores list it new as of November 4, 2026. Compare the other two listings before buying in case one includes delivery or setup.

Will it fit inside a standard bed frame?

It is designed to stand alone or sit inside a platform-style frame. Check your frame's interior dimensions against the 75.5-inch width before ordering.
