Our take on the The Futon Shop Organic Cotton Case Medium Firm Latex Mattress Topper

The Futon Shop Organic Cotton Case Medium Firm Latex Mattress Topper is a 2-inch Dunlop latex topper wrapped in an organic cotton cover. It is GOTS-style organic certified and made without chemical flame retardants or foams, which is the main reason buyers pick it over polyurethane toppers. Medium firm latex adds support more than plushness, so it suits people who find their mattress too soft or worn rather than too hard. Questions and answers

Is this topper worth it over a cheap foam topper?
If you want firmer support and no chemical foams, yes. Dunlop latex is denser and more durable than polyurethane foam, but it costs several times more.
Will medium firm work for a side sleeper?
Usually not on its own. Side sleepers need shoulder and hip cushioning, and this topper adds support rather than softness. Back and stomach sleepers are the better fit.
Does it have a chemical smell?
Owners generally report little to no odor. Natural latex has a faint rubber smell that fades, and there are no added flame-retardant chemicals.
What sizes are available?
Twin, Full Double, Queen, Eastern King and Cal King. Match the topper to your mattress size, since latex does not stretch to fit.
Can I put it under the mattress or inside a cover?
It is designed to sit on top of the mattress under a fitted sheet. A breathable mattress protector over it keeps the cotton cover clean.
When is it cheapest?
Latex prices move less than foam, but watch for seasonal sales and bundle discounts. Compare the live price across stores before buying.
