Our take on the The North Face Trail Lite Down 35 Sleeping Bag

The Trail Lite Down 35 is a three-season mummy bag rated to 35°F, built with 600-fill recycled down and synthetic fill around the toes where moisture collects. The long version weighs 1 lb 13.9 oz and packs into an included compression stuffsack. Trapezoidal side-chamber baffles and an insulated cinch collar are meant to hold warmth at the edges. At $195 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range, so waiting for a markdown is reasonable.

Pros

Light for a down bag: 1 lb 13.9 oz in the long size
600-fill recycled down packs small in the included stuffsack
Synthetic fill at the foot handles damp better than down alone
Insulated cinch collar and full hood seal in warmth
Trapezoidal baffles limit cold spots along the sides

Cons

35°F rating is optimistic for cold sleepers without a liner
Only 3.8 out of 5 from 20 ratings, so feedback is thin
Long size is roomy at 66-inch shoulder circumference, which can feel drafty
Down needs care: keep it dry and store it loose
