Is the Toro 21321 worth $399?

At $399 at Sappington Pro Outdoor as of November 5, 2026, it is a fair price for a rear-wheel-drive 21-inch mower with a steel deck and a 3-year warranty. Cheaper front-wheel-drive mowers cost less but struggle more on slopes.

How does it compare with a front-wheel-drive mower?

Rear-wheel drive puts the power at the wheels you push, so it climbs hills and grips better. Front-wheel-drive mowers are easier to turn but can slip on inclines.

Does it have electric start?

No. It starts with a pull cord only. There is no battery or key start on this model.

Can it mulch and bag?

Yes. It bags, mulches and side-discharges. You switch between them with the included plug and chute.

What lawn size is it suited to?

Toro rates it for up to about half an acre. The 0.2-gallon tank means you will refuel during a full half-acre cut.

Gas mowers usually drop in late fall and early spring. The current best new price is $399 at Sappington Pro Outdoor as of November 5, 2026.

Our take on the Toro 21-inch 21321

The Toro 21321 is a 21-inch self-propelled walk-behind gas mower with rear-wheel drive, variable speed and a 140cc Briggs & Stratton engine. It cuts, bags, mulches and side-discharges, and the 15-gauge steel deck is built for yards up to about half an acre. It uses a pull-cord start and has no blade-stop system, so the engine must stop before you leave the handle. The best new price is $399 at Sappington Pro Outdoor as of November 5, 2026, with two stores listing it new.
