Is the Touchstone Sideline worth $549?

At $549 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, it is a fair price for a 50-inch Wi-Fi recessed unit with dual media and multi-color flames. Comparable flush-mount models often cost more, and this price has been steady across stores.

Can I install it without cutting into the wall?

Yes. It can be wall-mounted with the included bracket, but it is designed to look best recessed so the front sits flush. Recessing needs a framed opening about 50 inches wide and 21.5 inches tall with 5.5 inches of depth.

Does the heater work without the flames, or the flames without heat?

The flames run independently of the heater, so you can use it for ambiance in any season. The heater adds up to 5,000 BTU of supplemental heat for rooms up to 400 square feet.

What comes in the box?

The fireplace, a wall-mount bracket, a remote control, and both the log and crystal media sets. You supply the framing and a nearby outlet.

How does it compare with the Touchstone Sideline Elite?

The Elite line adds a deeper flame presentation and more color options at a higher price. This standard Sideline covers the core features: Wi-Fi, thermostat, multi-color flames and dual media.

The price has sat at $549 since November 4, 2026, with no discount yet. Fireplace deals tend to appear in fall and around major sales events, so watch the price history before buying.
