Duraflame rates it for up to 1,000 sq ft at 5,200 BTU. In practice that suits a living room, bedroom or open-plan area where it sits, and it works best as supplemental heat rather than a primary furnace.

Does it need venting or a gas line?

No. It is vent-free and corded electric at 1,500 watts, so it plugs into a standard outlet and can go anywhere indoors. Keep it clear of curtains and give the cord room.

Can I run the flames without heat?

Yes. The flame effect works independently of the heater, so you can use it for ambiance in warmer months. The LED lighting keeps flame-only use low on power.

What comes in the box?

The stove, four screw-on legs and a remote control. Assembly is limited to attaching the legs, which reviewers describe as quick and easy.
