Our take on the Trent Austin Design Chrome 3-Bag Laundry Sorter with Bamboo Frame

The Trent Austin Design Chrome 3-Bag Laundry Sorter is a rolling frame hamper that holds three separate bags on a bamboo and chrome frame. It stands 32 inches high and 27 inches wide, so it sorts lights, darks and delicates without taking up a closet. The three-bag layout and wheels are its main selling points. It has a 4.6 out of 5 rating from 186 ratings, which is strong for a frame hamper.

Questions and answers

Is this sorter worth it?
If you already sort laundry into three loads, yes. It replaces three floor piles with one rolling frame. If you wash everything together, a single hamper costs less.
How big is it, really?
It is 32 inches high, 27 inches wide and 16.9 inches deep. Measure the spot first; the 27-inch width is the number that catches people out.
Do the bags come out?
Yes. Each of the three bags lifts off the frame so you can carry one load to the washer. Check that the bag hooks are still attached before you fill them heavy.
Does it have a lid?
No. It is an open frame, so clothes stay visible and air circulates. That suits a bedroom corner but not a formal living space.
Can it hold a full load per bag?
Each bag holds roughly one washer load. Overstuffing stretches the fabric and strains the seams, which is the most common durability complaint.
When is it cheapest?
Frame hampers like this tend to dip during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Watch the price history rather than buying at the first listed price.
