Is it worth buying over a cheaper basic warmer?

You are paying mostly for the maple leaf metal design and the night-light glow. If you only want strong scent, a plain warmer at a lower price does the same job.

How strong is the scent throw?

It uses one light bulb, so the throw is gentle. It works best in a bedroom, office or small living room, not an open-plan space.

What kind of bulb does it take?

It is a bulb-heated warmer, so it takes a small incandescent bulb of the type sold for wax warmers. Check the fitting and wattage on the box before buying spares.

Does it need wax melts or essential oils?

It is made for wax melts, not oils or water. Drop a melt into the top dish and switch it on.

Can I leave it on overnight?

It has only a plain switch, no timer or auto shutoff, and the metal gets hot. Turn it off when you leave the room or go to sleep.

Holiday-themed items like this usually drop around Christmas and in post-holiday clearance. Watch the price history rather than buying at full price in season.

Our take on the Untimaty Electric Metal Wax Melt Warmer

The Untimaty is a plug-in wax melt warmer built around a single light bulb, housed in a black metal body cut with a maple leaf pattern. The bulb melts scented wax in the dish on top and throws a soft glow, so it doubles as a small night light. It weighs 0.7 lb and suits a bedroom, living room, office or spa corner. It is a seasonal gift item rather than a high-output warmer, so expect a gentle scent throw from one standard bulb.
