Our take on the Vallejo Fluid Artist Acrylic Paint

Vallejo Fluid Acrylic is a water-based, low-odor fluid acrylic in a 100 ml bottle, made for brushwork, pouring and fine detail where thick tube paint is too heavy. It is formulated for minimal color shift from wet to dry and UV resistance, and it cleans up with water. The best new price is $22.50 at Jackson's Art Supplies as of November 7, 2026, with two stores listing it new.

Questions and answers

Is Vallejo Fluid Acrylic the same as Vallejo Model Color?
No. Model Color is a thicker, brush-oriented hobby paint for miniatures. Fluid Acrylic is a pourable artist acrylic for canvas, board and mixed media.
Do I need to thin it for airbrushing?
It is already fluid, but most airbrush users still add a little flow improver or water. Test on scrap first, since opacity changes with dilution.
How much surface does a 100 ml bottle cover?
Coverage depends on opacity and surface, but expect roughly one to two square meters per bottle at normal brush thickness. Porous surfaces soak up more.
Is it lightfast enough for work that will be sold?
Vallejo rates it UV-resistant, which helps against fading. For archival pieces, varnish the finished work and keep it out of direct sun.
Is $22.50 a good price for 100 ml?
It is the best new price among the two stores listing it as of November 7, 2026. Compare per-milliliter cost if you plan to buy several colors.
Where is the Vallejo Fluid Artist Acrylic Paint cheapest?
At Jackson's Art Supplies, for $22.50, as of our latest check.
