Is the Vitamix 6500 worth it over the 5200?

The 6500 adds three preset programs and a low-profile jar to the same C-Series platform. If you want one-touch smoothies and cabinet clearance, it is worth the step up; if you only use the dial, the 5200 does the same blending.

How does it compare with the Vitamix Ascent series?

The Ascent models add a touchscreen, self-detect containers and app connectivity. The 6500 keeps simple switches and a plastic jar but matches the 2.2 HP motor class at a lower price.

Does the 64-ounce container fit under cabinets?

Vitamix lists the 6500 at 17.25 inches tall with the low-profile jar, which clears most standard upper cabinets. Measure your clearance before buying.

What comes in the box?

The blender base, a 64-ounce low-profile container with lid, and a tamper. It runs on 120 V and draws 11.5 amps, so it needs a standard US outlet.

It is loud at high speed, comparable to other full-size Vitamix blenders. Expect to hear it in the next room during ice crushing.

When is the price lowest?

Vitamix discounts most around Black Friday and end-of-year sales. With only one store listing it new at $469.00 as of November 7, 2026, watch for holiday bundles that add a second jar.
