Is the Vitamix Ascent X3 worth it over a cheaper blender?

If you blend frozen fruit, ice or fibrous vegetables regularly, the motor and presets do work a $100 blender struggles with. For occasional smoothies, a cheaper model is enough.

How does the X3 compare with the Ascent A3500?

The A3500 adds more preset programs and wireless container recognition. The X3 keeps the same blending power and self-clean cycle for less money.

Can it really make hot soup?

Yes. The Hot Soups program runs long enough at high speed to heat soup through friction. Start with the recipe guidance, since it is not a stove.

What comes in the box?

The blender base, a 48-oz BPA-free container with lid, and a tamper. Check the listing for the exact included accessories.

Our take on the Vitamix Ascent X3

The Vitamix Ascent X3 is a full-size countertop blender with a 48-oz BPA-free container and touch controls on a digital display. It runs three preset programs — Smoothies, Hot Soups and Frozen Desserts — plus a self-cleaning cycle, so you can walk away from common jobs. It sits below the Ascent A3500 in Vitamix's lineup, with fewer presets and no built-in wireless pairing. The best new price is $479 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, from a single store listing.
