What is the difference between the 22 ft length and the 20 ft working height?

The 22 ft is the total extended length. The 20 ft design height is the safe working reach, so plan jobs that top out around 20 ft.

Is the 225 lb load capacity enough for me plus tools?

It covers the user and light tools up to 225 lb total. If you carry heavy gear or weigh close to the limit, step up to a Type IA 300 lb ladder.

How much space does it need for storage?

It collapses to about 5.5 ft long and 17.38 in wide, so it fits in a garage or shed or along a wall.

Can I use two of these as a scaffold?

Yes. Werner lists working as two scaffold bases as a use, but you need a proper plank and both ladders set on level ground.

Does it come with a stabilizer or standoff?

No. The base ladder includes non-slip feet and mar-resistant end caps only. A stabilizer is a separate purchase.

When is the price lowest?

Ladder prices tend to dip in spring and during fall home-improvement sales. Check the price history before buying.

Our take on the Werner 22 ft. Aluminum Extension Ladder

The Werner 22 ft. aluminum extension ladder reaches a 20 ft working height and collapses to about 5.5 ft for storage. It has a 225 lb duty rating, spring-loaded locks, and Traction-Tred D-rungs with slip-resistant pads. It meets ANSI and OSHA standards and can be paired with a second ladder as a scaffold base. It is a general-purpose household and light-trade ladder rather than a heavy-duty one.
