Our take on the Winston Porter Classic Brown Faux Leather Reclining Sofa

The Winston Porter Classic Brown Faux Leather Reclining Sofa is an oversized three-seat sofa with manual recline and nailhead trim along the arms and back. It measures 83.5 inches wide, 39.4 inches deep and 41.5 inches tall, with a 21.7-inch seat depth and 18.3-inch seat height, so it needs a large room and clearance behind for the recline. Faux leather and foam cushions suit households with kids or pets better than fabric, since spills wipe off. It is a budget-tier recliner sofa rather than a leather one, and shoppers should compare its current price against its own recent range before buying.

Questions and answers

Is this sofa worth it?
It is a reasonable buy if you want a reclining three-seater in the leather look without paying leather prices. Check the current price against its recent range and expect a few years of heavy use rather than decades.
How does it compare with a real leather recliner sofa?
Real leather costs much more but ages better and breathes more. Faux leather is easier to clean and cheaper, but it can peel and feels warmer in summer.
Does it need to be plugged in?
No. The recline is manual, so it works anywhere without an outlet, but leave a few inches behind the back for it to lean into.
Will it fit in my room?
It is 83.5 inches wide and 39.4 inches deep, so measure your wall and doorway first. The seat is 18.3 inches high and 21.7 inches deep.
What is in the box?
One sofa, shipped in pieces with the hardware needed for assembly. The back and arms usually need to be attached on delivery.
When is it cheapest?
Recliner sofas tend to drop during major holiday sales and at the end of the season. Watch its price history and buy when it sits near the low end of its recent range.
