Our take on the Winston Porter Buckhorn 58'' W Computer Desk with Outlet and 5 Drawers

The Buckhorn is a 58-inch executive-style computer desk in manufactured wood with a built-in power outlet, five drawers and a cabinet. Its T-shape base and 22-inch depth keep it compact enough for a home office while the drawer stack handles files and supplies. At 4.2 out of 5 from 244 ratings, it is a solidly reviewed mid-priced option. It is a large, assembly-required piece, so plan for the space and an hour or two with tools.

Best forHome office with a printer and file storageShoppers who want an outlet built into the deskBuyers wanting an executive look on a budgetSmall-to-mid rooms needing closed storage
Pros
  • Built-in power outlet keeps chargers off the floor
  • Five drawers plus a cabinet give plenty of closed storage
  • 58-inch top fits a monitor, laptop and paperwork
  • Water-resistant manufactured wood surface
  • Executive styling at a modest price
Cons
  • Manufactured wood, not solid wood
  • Assembly required, and a heavy flat-pack at that
  • 50 lb drawer limit rules out heavy filing
  • 22-inch depth is shallow for large monitors and keyboards
  • T-shape base leaves less legroom than a full panel side

Questions and answers

Is the Buckhorn desk worth it?
For the price it packs in five drawers, a cabinet and an outlet, which is rare at this size. If you need solid wood or heavy file capacity, look elsewhere.
How long does assembly take?
Most owners report one to two hours with two people. The T-shape base and drawer slides are the slow parts, so have a screwdriver and a helper ready.
Does the outlet include USB ports?
The listing specifies a power outlet but does not confirm USB ports. Check the outlet plate on arrival before relying on it for phone charging.
Will a 27-inch monitor fit?
Yes, the 58-inch width handles a 27-inch monitor plus a laptop. The 22-inch depth means a large monitor sits close, so consider a monitor arm.
What is the weight capacity?
Each drawer is rated to 50 lb. The desktop capacity is not stated, so keep heavy printers and stacks of files spread out.
When is it cheapest?
Desks like this tend to dip during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Set a price alert and compare across stores rather than buying at list.
What do buyers say about the Winston Porter Buckhorn 58'' W Computer Desk with Outlet and 5 Drawers?
