Question 1

Is $409.99 a good price for 24 lamps?

Accepted Answer

It works out to about $17 per lamp. That is in line with other 100W F71 tanning lamps, but it is the only new price listed as of November 3, 2026, so there is nothing cheaper to compare it to.

Question 2

Will these fit my tanning bed?

Accepted Answer

Only if your bed takes 71-inch T12 lamps with bi-pin ends and 100W ballasts. Check the lamp label inside the bed before ordering; F71 HO and 160W beds need different lamps.

Question 3

How often should I replace them?

Accepted Answer

Most salons relamp after roughly 500 to 1,000 hours, or about every 6 to 12 months of steady use, because UV output fades before the lamp visibly fails. Follow your bed maker's schedule.

Question 4

How do these compare with the original Dark Tan?

Accepted Answer

The Dark Tan II is the later version of the same line, aimed at a similar bronzing result. Wolff does not publish side-by-side UV figures, so the difference is mostly in the tan it produces rather than in fit.

Question 5

Can I use them in a home tanning bed?

Accepted Answer

They are sold for commercial use. A home bed with 100W F71 bi-pin ballasts can run them, but check the bed's rating first, since mismatched wattage can damage the unit.

Question 6

What is in the box?

Accepted Answer

24 lamps, nothing else. No starters, sleeves or protective packaging beyond the carton, so handle them carefully and keep spares upright.
