Is the Xkj folding e-bike worth buying at $169.99?

At $169.99 at Walmart as of October 31, 2026, it is one of the cheapest folding e-bikes with a 48V 12Ah battery. The 2.6 out of 5 rating from 64 owners is the main warning sign, so weigh the savings against the risk of returns or repairs.

How far can it really go on a charge?

The 20+ mile figure is for pedal-assist mode. Expect noticeably less range in pure electric throttle mode, and less again in cold weather or on hills.

Can I ride it without pedaling?

Yes. It has a pure electric mode alongside pedal-assist and normal bicycle mode, so the 500W motor can carry you on throttle alone.

Will it fit in a car trunk?

The frame, handlebars and pedals fold, and the seat and handlebar height adjust. It is built to fit a trunk, elevator or small room, but the steel frame makes it heavy to lift.

What comes in the box?

The listing mentions keys but does not state how many. It does not list a charger, tools or a manual, so confirm those with the seller before ordering.

How does it compare with a 16-inch or 20-inch folding e-bike?

The 14-inch wheels make it more compact but less stable and less comfortable over rough pavement. Larger-wheel folders ride better but take more space and usually cost more.
