Pros
  • Light enough for one person to carry and pole-mount
  • 700 W peak gives real headroom for a 10-inch box
  • XLR and RCA inputs cover mixers, mics and phones
  • Yamaha's DSP and limiter protect the driver at high volume
  • Rated 4.9 out of 5 from 88 ratings
Cons
  • 55 Hz low end means little sub-bass without a subwoofer
  • Plastic enclosure and no onboard effects
  • Only two channels, so a full band needs a mixer
  • Loud peaks can still push it into limiting

Questions and answers

Is the Yamaha DBR10 worth it for a solo performer?
Yes. It is loud enough for small rooms and easy to carry alone, and at $349.99 at Amazon as of November 3, 2026 it undercuts most 10-inch powered speakers from major brands.
How does it compare with the DBR12?
The DBR12 has a 12-inch woofer and reaches lower, so it suits fuller bands. The DBR10 is lighter and cheaper, which fits solo acts and tight spaces.
Can I use it as a floor monitor?
Yes. The cabinet has a monitor-angle side, so it works as a wedge for vocals or guitar.
Does it need a mixer?
Not for one or two sources. The two channels take XLR and RCA directly, but a band with several mics will want a mixer.
What is in the box?
The speaker and power cable. A pole mount and cover are sold separately.
When is it cheapest?
Prices move with sales events; the current best is $349.99 at Amazon as of November 3, 2026, and 6 stores list it new.
