Which is better for a beginner home gym?

Either works, since both go from 2.5 to 12.5 lb per hand. The CAP Adjustabell is the cheaper entry at $94.17 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, and its twist handle is simple to learn.

Is the Uboway worth the extra money?

Only if you want dial adjustment and the rainbow plates. It costs $116.99 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, about $23 more than the CAP, for the same 12.5 lb maximum.

Both are metal-and-plastic adjustable sets at a similar price tier. The CAP has a longer brand track record; the Uboway claims stainless steel and safety locks but has less history behind it.

Can I outgrow these quickly?

Yes. At 12.5 lb per dumbbell, most people outgrow them within months for pressing and rowing. Plan to add heavier fixed dumbbells or a larger adjustable set later.

Do both come as a pair?

Yes. The CAP set is sold as a pair of 12.5 lb dumbbells, and the Uboway box contains two adjustable dumbbells.

Which is better for small spaces?

The Uboway claims a 0.2 ft² footprint, which is very small. The CAP set is also compact and includes a storage tray, so either fits a tight corner.
