LG C5 OLED TV vs LG B6E Series OLED 4K Smart TV

Buy the LG C5 if you want the better picture and gaming set: its Alpha 9 Gen8 processor, 144Hz VRR and four HDMI 2.1 ports put it a class above the B6E. Buy the B6E if you want the lowest price on a 55-inch OLED and can live with a 120Hz panel and the step-down Alpha 8 chip. On price they are nearly level: the C5 is $813.30 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, and the B6E is $799.99 at Best Buy as of November 7, 2026. The C5 has also swung as low as $781.60 (November 2, 2026), so it can undercut the B6E.

Today the LG B6E Series OLED 4K Smart TV costs $13.31 less at its best price.

Questions and answers

Which is better for gaming, the C5 or the B6E?
The C5. It runs up to 144Hz with VRR and has four HDMI 2.1 ports, while the B6E tops out at 120Hz. Both offer G-Sync, FreeSync Premium and 0.1ms response.
Is the C5 worth the extra money over the B6E?
At current prices the gap is only about $13 ($813.30 versus $799.99), so yes. You get the brighter evo panel, the Alpha 9 Gen8 processor and 144Hz support for roughly the price of a coffee.
Which has the better picture?
The C5. Its OLED evo panel and Alpha 9 Gen8 processor are a step above the B6E's standard OLED panel and Alpha 8 Gen3 chip. Both still deliver perfect black and Dolby Vision.
Which is brighter in a bright room?
The C5, thanks to its evo panel and Brightness Booster. Neither is the brightest OLED on the market, so keep curtains in mind for daytime viewing.
What sizes does each come in?
The C5 comes in sizes from 42 inches up. The B6E is listed only as a 55-inch set, so it is the simpler choice if 55 inches is all you need.
Which has been cheaper lately?
The B6E hit $669.99 on October 29, 2026, its lowest. The C5's low was $781.60 on November 2, 2026, but it has also spiked to $1,499.99, so watch its price before buying.
