Which is better for a living room with heavy foot traffic?

The Safavieh Adirondack. Its 0.43 in low pile vacuums easily and resists crushing, while the Garland's 0.7 in high pile mats down faster in busy areas.

Which rug is softer underfoot?

The Garland Rug Ivy. Its 0.7 in high pile is noticeably thicker than the Safavieh's 0.43 in pile.

Is the Garland worth the savings over the Safavieh?

At the listed prices it is $15.86 cheaper, so yes if you want a black floral rug and a thicker pile. Pay the extra for the Safavieh if you need a light color or a flatter rug.

Which hides stains better?

The Garland's black color hides marks better. Both are synthetic and listed as stain-resistant, but the Safavieh's ivory/silver shows spills sooner.

Neither has a published wear warranty in the specs given. The Safavieh's tighter low pile generally holds up better in high-traffic rooms; the Garland's nylon blend adds durability but its high pile is more prone to matting.

Do either have fringe?

The Garland Rug Ivy has no fringe. The Safavieh listing does not state fringe, so confirm with the seller before buying.
